Dear Parents and Caregivers,

As we wind down for the term, it goes without saying that every staff member at St Martin’s Catholic Primary School has been greatly affected by the events of this semester. The demands and pressures that were suddenly placed on each of them as a result of COVID-19 were extraordinary and indeed unprecedented (this word definitely sums it up).  It is an absolute credit to every employee for how they kept our school safe, managed to undertake new learning platforms and online learning strategies, navigated the regular shifting of ‘restrictions and rules’ for dealing with the changes and at the same time persevered in being present each day for the students in their care. During this time, there were times of frustration, immense anxiety, and deep worry about the wellbeing of their own loved ones, but in true St Martin’s style, all staff soldiered on and presented each day at the workplace.

Outreach

On Thursday 25 June, we held our annual Outreach Day.  The donations were astounding with over 2200 items being brought into the school.  Congratulations to all teams as ‘together’ we have made a significant contribution towards the St Vinnies Winter Appeal.   My heartfelt thanks to all families of the St Martin’s community for the overwhelming response.  The Outreach Award for 2020 was won by Hartzer – congratulations to the blue team!
