Leadership News

Greetings!

You are so important to your child.

Sometimes they have waited from the moment you dropped them off in the morning for the moment you will pick them up in the afternoon.

Sometimes they are bursting with joy and excitement to share their day with you.

Sometimes sadness has been filling their little heart from something that happened in the day and they need you to just love them and be present for them.

And some days are just so ordinary that to see your face and have your attention is all that is required from you.

No matter what the story, the child that you are coming to pick up at the end of their school day loves you and wants your attention.

I am throwing you a challenge… When you come into the school to pick up your child, put your mobile phone away (or even better, leave it in the car), greet your child with your eyes and your ears and your arms. Pay them the attention they crave and deserve. Listen to their stories, engage them in conversation, share each other’s day. The mobile phone conversation you aren’t having is nowhere near as important as the face-to-face conversation you are having with your precious child.

APRIM News

Ash Wednesday – 17 February

The season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, which also marks the beginning of the annual Caritas Australia Project Compassion Appeal.  Donations to Project Compassion allow Caritas Australia, the Catholic Agency for International Aid and Development, to work with local communities around the world to alleviate poverty, hunger, oppression and injustice.  This year, Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion theme is ‘Be More’.   It challenges us to venture into a new experience of compassion, and is taken from the invitation of St Oscar Romero, to “Aspire not to have more, but to be more.”
