A Christmas Reflection – The Wise Men

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew.

All:  Glory to you O Lord.

Then Herod secretly called for the wise men and learned from them the exact time when the star had appeared.  Then he sent them to Bethlehem, saying, “Go and search diligently for the child; and when you have found him, bring me word so that I may also go and pay him homage.”

Sport thank you.jpg

On behalf of the Parent Network, I would like to extend a huge thank you to all our members and everyone who has volunteered to help organise and run our Parent Network events this year. These events include making pancakes for Shrove Tuesday, decorating the hall for Discos, the start of term coffee cart, wrapping and selling gifts for the Mother’s and Father’s Day Stalls and organising the recent Auslan Workshops.

These events could not have been possible without all the parents in the background helping out, so thank you to you all.

We are proud to announce that thanks to the Parents In Education (PIE) grant that we received last year, not only were we able to run the Auslan Workshop for parents but we were also able to purchase extra resources such as flash cards and alphabet kits for the students and parents to use for future Auslan Workshops.

In 2020, as a result of our fundraising, the Parent Network was able to donate $5000 towards our school library for the purchase of new books. In 2021, the Parent Network have proposed to donate $3000 towards a project run by the SRC to improve the play spaces in the school and build a new nature play area, mud play garden and a butterfly garden.

We hope to be able to raise a further $2000 at our next big event in March 2022, “An Evening on the Green” to further develop these play areas for our students. Keep your eyes peeled for details on this exciting event!

Thank you for all your support in 2021, we look forward to seeing many new faces volunteering next year!
